Event Questions

Where is the Event Located?


Legg Lake @ Whittier Narrows Recreation Area: 751 Santa Anita Ave, South El Monte, CA 91733




Is There An Age Restriction?


No, there is no age restriction for this event. However, there will be a few frightening creatures lurking about.




Will Creatures Touch My Car?


No, the Creatures in all areas will not touch your car. In the Food Crawl area, they will approach your window and serve you food, but they will not touch you.




Can I Have My Windows Rolled Down?


Yes, however we ask that ALL occupants of the car be wearing a mask when the windows are rolled down.




Will The Creatures ALSO Be In Masks?


Yes, the Creatures will be in covid-safe masks, as well as food handling gloves. (NOTE: Creatures will NOT handle your food. All food is prepared and pre-packaged behind the scenes by our kitchen staff for your health and safety.)




How Much Time Should I Plan To Be There?


Depending on the session time you've chosen, you should plan for anywhere between 1-2 Hours.




What Happens If It Rains?


We are open Rain or Shine.




Is Smoking Allowed?


Smoking is prohibitted, due to the fact that this event takes place in a Public Park.




Is Alcohol Allowed?


No. Open alcohol containers and/or drinking in the vehicle by ANY occupant will result in your immediate expulsion from the event. There will be Zero Tolerance Policy for Drinking and Driving.




Am I Able To Leave The Event And Re-Enter?


There are no in-out privleges, and re-entry will not be allowed.




Will There Be Restrooms Available?


Due to COVID-19 Safety Protocols, we ask everyone use the restroom BEFORE entering the event. Restrooms are for EMERGENCY only.




Is Photography or Filming Allowed?


Yes, however, you must TURN OFF YOUR FLASH--it is blinding and dangerous to the Creatures and other Drivers. Failure to comply with this simple request may result in your expulsion from the event.




Can I Bring My Pet?


While we all know hamsters LOVE Halloween attractions, we would suggest that you leave your pets at home, as there may be flashing lights and potentially startling moments on the trail that would frighten them.




Headlights On Or Off?


We will ask that you turn your headlights off for the duration of the event. Your path will be illuminated and clearly marked. Little yellow running lights are fine.




Will There Be Strobe Lights?


There will be theatrical lighting and it MAY include strobe effects, but the strobe light will NOT be aimed at any vehicles.




I'm Pregnant, Or Have A Medical Condition...Should I Come?


We do not recommend anyone who may be pregnant, or may have an underlying medical condition (such as epilepsey or heart conditon) that is exacerbated by scary or stressful environments to attend, without first consulting your doctor.




How Do I Make An Emergency Exit From The Experience?


If you need assistance or have an emegency and need to exit, simply alert one of our staff members, who you will find throughout the course, and they will assist you. Please note, once you exit the event, there is no re-entry.




Can We Be Denied Entry?


We reserve the right to refuse admittance for: vulgar language, obscene behavior, weapons, alcohol, drugs, or violation of our COVID-19 Protocols and Safety Rules.




How Do I Enter The Car Costume Contest?


We encourage you and your car to DRESS UP this Halloween! Decorate your car (with road-safe complient decorations) and will be entered to win prizes throughout the Halloween season!




What Should I Bring?


You'll need flashlights for the Flashlight Creature Safari and an appetite for the food crawl!




ADD-ON Ticket - what's that?


You may add additional people to your vehicle, with an ADD-ON TICKET. Add-On Tickets are intended to add addtional people to a vehicle that has ALREADY purchased tickets. Each passenger must have their own seat, with seat belt. Add-On ticket holders will not be allowed entry in their own vehicle.





Ticket Questions

Do I Need To Print My Tickets?


You can, but you do not need to as long as you can access them on your smartphone device.




Can I Buy Tickets On Site?


No, this is a TIMED TICKETING EVENT, which means tickets are only able to be purchased in advance online.




Are Tickets Sold Per Car or Per Person?


Tickets are sold per VEHICLE, based on the number of OCCUPANTS in the vehicle.




ADD-ON Ticket - what's that?


You may add additional people to your vehicle, with an ADD-ON TICKET. Add-On Tickets are intended to add addtional people to a vehicle that has ALREADY purchased tickets. Each passenger must have their own seat, with seat belt. Add-On ticket holders will not be allowed entry in their own vehicle.




Are There Refunds or Exchanges?


All tickets are non-refundable and terms are agreed to at checkout when purchasing. Should future governement orders or restrictions cancel or delay the event, we will assist with rescheduling or refunding a ticket order. Please contact INFO@THEBITELA.COM for more information, with your ticket order number.




How Many Times Can I Go Through The Experience?


Tickets are valid for ONE TIME THROUGH the experince. There is no re-entry.




What Is Timed Ticketing and What If I Miss My Time Window?


Timed Ticketing means you have a specific Time Window to arrive, in order to be granted access to the event. If you miss your Time Window, we will do our best to get you into the event as soon as we can, however it does not guarantee entry. If you arrive early for your Time Window, you will NOT be granted access until your specificed time.




Can We Be Denied Entry?


We reserve the right to refuse admittance for: vulgar language, obscene behavior, weapons, alcohol, drugs, or violation of our COVID-19 Protocols and Safety Rules.




How Fast Does Customer Service Typically Respond?


Customer Service will respond within 24 Hours.





Bite Food Questions

What Is On The Bite Menu?


A nightly Bite Menu will be provided for you upon entry. Bite Menus are subject to change each night. The Bite Menu will list which food is Vegetarian (VEG), Vegan (VG) and Gluten Free (GF), so you can plan your Bites accordingly.




I Have Food Allergies or Restrictions, What Will I Eat?


FOOD ALLERGY WARNING Please Be Advised That Food Prepared Here May Contain These Ingredients: Milk, Eggs, Wheat, Soybean, Peanuts and Tree Nuts. There will be Vegetarian, Vegan, and Gluten Free Options for CERTAIN items, they will be dentoed on The Bite Menu as Vegetarian (VEG), Vegan (VG) and Gluten Free (GF). Feel free to order more of those specific items to fill out your food tickets.




How Does The Bite Food Ordering Work?


Each purchased ticket includes 8 Bites per person in your vehicle. When you pull up to the Bite Booth, say "Trick Or Treat!" and order the number of Bites you wish from that Creature. Bite orders will be tallied by the Creatures, so feel free to order as many additional Bites as you wish. Each Bite after 8 (per verhicle guest) is an additional charge and will be paid for at the end of the Food Crawl with our check-out tellers. If you've ordered 8 or less Bites (per vehicle guest), you won't be charged any additional fee at check-out. Unused Bites will not be refunded.




Does The Campfire Dessert and Fall Drink Count As A Bite Order?


Every ticketed guest is entitled to ONE Campfire Dessert and ONE Fall Drink, which does not count against your 8 Bites. So it's actually 10 Bites for the price of 8! These final items will have VEG, VG and GF options.




Are Outside Food and Drinks Allowed?


No, we ask that you do not bring outside food, drinks or alcohol, so that you may enjoy the amazing Bite Menu we have in store for you! As a reminder, drinking and driving will not be allowed in ANY CAPACITY, and will result in your immediate expulsion from the event.




Will There Be Water For Sale?


Yes, we will have bottled water. It can be counted as one of your Bites, or it can be purchased as an addtional Bite.




What Forms of Payment Will You Accept


Due to COVID-19 Safety Policies, there will be no cash transactions allowed. We will accept credit cards and Venmo payments.




Can I Transfer My Bites To Another Person In My Car?


YES! Absolutely, you can share your Bites with another person in your own vehicle.




How BIG is a Bite?


While each Bite varies in size, each is more than a mouthful!





Vehicle Questions

Can This Experience Be Done Without A Car?


No. This is a self-driving event (meaning, you drive the course in your own vehicle.) All guests must be in a seat with seatbelt, no riding in the back of a pickup vehicle.




Are There Vehicle Model Restrictions?


The following vehicles will be denied entry: Bicycles, scooters, scooters, open air vehicles, such as convertibles without roof (convertibles with their top closed may enter), cars or trucks with trailers, buses, RVs, long wheelbase vans. Limos and Mini Buses MUST receive prior approval by contacting info@thebitela.com prior to purchasing tickets.




Can I Sit In The Bed Of A Pick-Up Truck?


No, all guests must remain INSIDE of a vehicle at all times. All guests must be in a seat with seatbelt, no riding in the back of a pickup vehicle.




Do I Need A Radio In My Vehicle?


Yes. In certain areas we will be broadcasting music and content through radio stations.




What Is the Speed Limit?


3mph in all zones. This is for your enjoyment of the event, as well as the safety of our Creatures and Staff. Slow down, take your time and take it all in! Staff will be stationed throughout to monitor speed.
